About Me

I discovered Stampin' Up about 15 years ago. I appreciated then, as I do now, this company's commitment to quality and integrity. Creating lovely, professional looking paper crafts is made easy with papers, ink, and embellishments that coordinate perfectly. Can it be any better than having the best job in the world-doing what I love and sharing what I do?!
When I told my kids that I wanted to begin sharing my hobby/business on a blog they all quickly agreed that I should name it "Looks Store Bought". That expression comes from a family joke that grew out of the impression of some folks that anything worthy must come from a store. Here's the story....As a younger girl in high school I enjoyed creating many of my outfits. Those pesky "mean girls" often asked where I bought what I was wearing. Initially I told them that I'd made it. "Ewww, you made it?", they sneered. To circumvent their disdain I began to respond that I couldn't remember where I'd gotten my clothes.
I continued to enjoy a variety of handcrafts-sewing clothes for myself, husband and kids, knitting, scrapbooking and card making. One day as I displayed my latest creation one of the kids exclaimed, "Wow, Mommy, it looks store bought!". Cecil and I burst out laughing and there was born our family congratulations when we produced an exceptional creation. Such efforts were congratulated with a sincere, "Wow, it looks store bought".
